The RSPCA is committed to the care and welfare of animals, providing extensive professional facilities, including fully equipped veterinary hospitals and our state-wide shelter network, with hundreds of staff across NSW to care for animals.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Community department in the exciting additional position of Training Officer on a fixed term part time basis  The Training Officer position is responsible for developing a new additional qualification for the RSPCA NSW Training Team (RTO number 70238).

This position will require the successful candidate to travel interstate and intrastate occasionally and will also require some outside of normal business hours and weekend work. The work of the wider Community Team requires interaction with children on an educational basis and will therefore require a valid Working with Children Check for this position. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting with stakeholders to research required needs for training implementation
  • Unpacking Qualifications and Units of Competency to create content and resources for use in delivery and assessment
  • Facilitate validation of materials that are produced, to ensure they meet required unit outcomes
  • Liaising with RSPCA Inspectorates nationally to scope needs and customise deliverables
  • Preparation and creation of delivery and assessment materials for the qualification PSP40416 Certificate IV in Government Investigations for internal and external clients in preparation for addition to RTO scope.
  • Participating in RTO compliance audits and working with the Training and Outreach teams to meet compliance requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (essential)
  • Valid Working with Children Check (essential)
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations (advantageous)
  • Demonstrated experience developing training material and assessment tools for nationally recognised qualifications or single units of competency
  • Previous experience working with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Ability to accept responsibility and accountability
