The RSPCA is committed to the care and welfare of animals, providing extensive professional facilities, including fully equipped veterinary hospitals and our state-wide shelter network, with hundreds of staff across NSW to care for animals.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Community department in the exciting additional position of Training Office - Government Investigations on a fixed term part time basis until 30 June 2020. The Training Officer- Government Investigations position is responsible for developing a specific qualification for the RSPCA NSW Training Team (RTO number 70238), PSP40416 Certificate IV in Government Investigation in accordance with RSPCA NSW strategic plan.

This position will require the successful candidate to travel interstate and intrastate occasionally and will also require some outside of normal business hours and weekend work. This position requires interaction with children on an educational basis from time to time and will therefore require a valid Working with Children Check.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting with stakeholders to research required needs for training implementation
  • Unpacking Qualifications and Units of Competency to create content and resources for use in delivery and assessment
  • Facilitate validation of materials that are produced, to ensure they meet required unit outcomes
  • Liaising with RSPCA Inspectorates nationally to scope needs and customise deliverables
  • Preparation and creation of delivery and assessment materials for the qualification PSP40416 Certificate IV in Government Investigations for internal and external clients
  • Participating in RTO compliance audits and working with the Training and Outreach teams to meet compliance requirements
  • Working with a Learning Management System (LMS) that is integrated with a Student Management System (SMS) to create innovative on-line content and manage student data in line with Privacy legislation.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (essential)
  • Valid Working with Children Check (essential)
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations (advantageous)
  • Demonstrated experience developing training material and assessment tools for nationally recognised qualifications or single units of competency
  • Demonstrated experience teaching in front of groups
  • Previous experience working with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
  • Demonstrated experience with online learning
  • Strong public speaking and teaching skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Ability to teach across a diverse range of age and ability
  • Ability to accept responsibility and accountability
