RSPCA NSW is committed to the care and welfare of animals, providing extensive professional facilities, including fully-equipped veterinary hospitals and our state-wide shelter network, with hundreds of staff across New South Wales to care for animals.

Our Sydney Veterinary Hospital is searching for an experienced receptionist to join our expanding customer service team on a full-time basis. Our receptionists are the first point of contact for the public and are responsible for ensuring a continued high level of customer service within our veterinary hospital. 

The successful candidates will be required to work shifts between the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. on a seven-day rotating roster, including regular weekends and some public holidays.
 
On a day-to-day basis you will:
Answer a variety of phone calls and making appointments for veterinary services
Greet all visitors and customers to the hospital
Keep the reception and waiting area clean
Communicate with veterinarians, nurses, customers and other departments within RSPCA NSW 
Recommend retail and preventative products to pet parents 
Keep reception and consult rooms well stocked
Carry out general administration duties

To be successful in this role, candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
Previous experience in reception and customer service
Ability to build outstanding rapport with a variety of clients
A love of animals and passion for helping people and their pets
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent time management and prioritising skills
Attention to detail, punctuality and reliability
Team player and can-do attitude
Strong customer service skills, and the ability to empathise and remain compassionate in a busy and varied role
